ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT
Last Updated: August 30, 2026
Curly Lifestyles Media Inc. (“Curly Lifestyles,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible experience for people with disabilities.
We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time project. We seek to identify, prevent and remove barriers affecting access to curlylifestyles.com, our editorial content, communications, products, services and interactive features, and to respond appropriately when an individual encounters an accessibility barrier.
Curly Lifestyles Media Inc. is based in Ontario, Canada.
1. Our Accessibility Standard
Curly Lifestyles uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA as our target and reference framework for digital accessibility.
WCAG is an internationally recognized accessibility standard developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and is based on the principles that digital content should be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.
Ontario’s current Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (“AODA”) website requirements refer to WCAG 2.0 Level AA for organizations to which those specific requirements apply. WCAG 2.2 builds upon earlier WCAG 2 standards, and W3C recommends using the current version when developing or updating accessibility policies.
2. No Unverified Claim of Full Conformance
Our use of WCAG 2.2 Level AA as an accessibility goal does not mean that Curly Lifestyles represents or warrants that every webpage, article, document, video, feature, third-party integration or other item currently fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
A complete WCAG conformance claim requires appropriate evaluation.
Unless and until Curly Lifestyles has completed an appropriate accessibility evaluation supporting a particular conformance claim, this Accessibility Statement should be understood as describing our accessibility commitments, practices and goals rather than as a certification of complete WCAG conformance.
3. Ontario Accessibility and Human Rights
Curly Lifestyles seeks to comply with accessibility obligations applicable to our organization under Ontario law, including the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, its applicable regulations, and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
Accessibility standards and human-rights obligations are related but are not identical.
Compliance with a technical accessibility standard does not necessarily eliminate an organization’s responsibility to consider an individual’s disability-related accommodation needs.
Where the Ontario Human Rights Code applies, Curly Lifestyles recognizes the duty to accommodate disability-related needs to the point of undue hardship in accordance with applicable law.
Nothing in this Accessibility Statement is intended to restrict a right or accommodation available under applicable law.
4. Our Approach to Digital Accessibility
As we develop, maintain and update Curly Lifestyles, we aim to consider accessibility throughout the design, publishing and development process rather than treating accessibility solely as a correction made after a problem occurs.
Our accessibility efforts may include reviewing page structure and headings; providing meaningful text alternatives for informative images; supporting keyboard interaction; maintaining readable text and appropriate contrast; providing useful labels and instructions for forms; making links and controls understandable; supporting browser zoom and reflow; improving compatibility with assistive technologies; captioning or otherwise providing alternatives for multimedia where appropriate; and identifying barriers in new features before or after they are released.
Accessibility priorities may change as our website, technology and services evolve.
5. Accessibility Testing and Review
Accessibility cannot be reliably established through automated testing alone.
Curly Lifestyles may use a combination of automated accessibility tools, manual review, keyboard testing, assistive-technology testing, user feedback and other appropriate evaluation methods when reviewing accessibility.
When we make a formal representation concerning WCAG conformance, we intend for that representation to be based on an appropriate evaluation rather than solely on an automated accessibility score or software-generated report.
We recognize that feedback from people who actually use assistive technologies can reveal barriers that automated systems do not detect.
6. Website Structure and Navigation
We aim to structure our website so that users can understand and navigate content using a range of devices and assistive technologies.
This includes working toward appropriate page titles, meaningful headings, logical heading order, descriptive links, identifiable controls, predictable navigation and clear organization of primary content.
Important instructions should not rely solely on colour, visual position, shape or other visual characteristics that may be inaccessible to some users.
7. Keyboard and Assistive-Technology Access
We aim for essential website functions to be usable without requiring precise mouse movement.
This includes features such as navigation, links, buttons, forms, account functions, shopping features and interactive controls.
As features are added or substantially changed, we aim to consider compatibility with technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, browser magnification, voice-control technologies and other assistive tools.
Because assistive technologies, browsers and devices vary, we cannot guarantee identical behaviour in every possible combination.
If you encounter a barrier, please tell us.
8. Images and Alternative Text
We aim to provide meaningful alternative text for images when an image communicates information needed to understand the content.
Images that are purely decorative may intentionally use empty alternative text so that assistive technologies can skip them.
Older, third-party or legacy content may not always contain the same level of accessibility information as newly created content. We may review and improve such material over time, particularly when a barrier is reported.
9. Video, Audio and Multimedia
Curly Lifestyles may publish interviews, street interviews, red-carpet footage, event coverage, editorial videos, social-media videos, audio and other multimedia.
We aim to use accessibility features such as captions, transcripts or appropriate text alternatives where reasonably appropriate and where supported by the relevant format or platform.
Accessibility options may differ depending on whether material is live or prerecorded, where it is hosted, when it was produced and which third-party technology is used.
Where applicable law requires a particular accessible format or communication support, we will seek to meet that requirement.
10. Forms
Curly Lifestyles may use forms for activities such as contact inquiries, newsletters, accounts, purchases, story submissions, contributor participation, contests and other services.
We aim to design forms with understandable instructions, meaningful labels, usable keyboard navigation and understandable error information.
Where a form prevents a person with a disability from accessing a service, please contact us. We will work with the individual to determine whether an accessible alternative can be provided where required or reasonably practicable.
11. Quizzes and Interactive Features
Curly Lifestyles may offer quizzes, recommendation tools, polls and other interactive experiences.
As these features are introduced, we aim to consider accessibility in the design of questions, answer controls, navigation, error messages and results.
We aim for essential interactions not to depend exclusively on dragging, hovering, colour perception or another interaction method that some users cannot perform.
Where a quiz or other interactive feature creates an accessibility barrier, contact us so that we can consider an appropriate alternative or improvement.
12. Accounts, Authentication and Checkout
As Curly Lifestyles introduces account and e-commerce functionality, we aim to consider accessibility throughout complete user processes rather than only on individual pages.
This includes registration, authentication, cart functions, checkout, payment-related interfaces, order information and error correction.
Where Curly Lifestyles controls a purchase process, we aim to avoid accessibility barriers that prevent a person from independently completing a transaction.
Where a third-party payment or technical provider contributes to a barrier, we may work with the provider and, where appropriate, with the affected individual to identify an alternative method.
13. Advertising and Sponsored Content
As a media publication, Curly Lifestyles may display advertisements, sponsored content, affiliate material and commercial features.
We aim for required advertising or sponsorship labels to be perceivable and understandable.
We also aim to avoid having advertising interfaces unnecessarily prevent keyboard navigation, obstruct essential content or interfere with assistive technologies.
Some advertising technology is provided by independent third parties and may change without direct control by Curly Lifestyles. We nevertheless encourage users to report accessibility barriers caused by advertisements so that we can investigate the issue and, where reasonably possible, address it directly or with the relevant provider.
14. Digital Products and Documents
Curly Lifestyles may offer downloadable guides, PDFs and other digital products.
We aim to consider accessibility when producing new digital materials.
If publicly available information or information connected to a Curly Lifestyles service is inaccessible to you because of a disability, you may request an accessible format or communication support.
Where required by applicable Ontario accessibility law, Curly Lifestyles will consult with the individual concerning a suitable format or support, provide it in a timely manner, and will not charge more for the accessible version than the regular cost charged to others.
Where information cannot technically be converted into the requested format, we will address the request in accordance with applicable law and may explain the limitation and seek another reasonable way to provide access to the information.
15. Accessibility Feedback
We welcome feedback concerning accessibility barriers.
Accessibility feedback may relate to our website, articles, forms, multimedia, digital products, checkout processes, quizzes, communications or other Curly Lifestyles services.
You may contact:

Email: info@curlylifestyles.com
You are welcome to identify the page, feature or content involved and explain the barrier you experienced and the type of assistance or alternative format that would be useful.
You are not required to disclose a diagnosis or unnecessary medical information simply to tell us that you encountered an accessibility barrier.
Where additional information is genuinely required to understand an accommodation need, we will seek only information reasonably necessary for that purpose and will handle it in accordance with applicable privacy obligations.
16. Accessible Feedback Methods
If email or our ordinary online contact methods themselves create a disability-related barrier, let us know through another Curly Lifestyles communication channel available to you and we will work with you to identify an appropriate method for providing feedback.
We aim to make the feedback process itself accessible.
We will review accessibility feedback and complaints and determine appropriate next steps based on the nature and severity of the reported barrier.
Barriers preventing a person from completing a current transaction, accessing time-sensitive information or meaningfully using a current service may receive priority where appropriate.
17. Accessible Formats and Communication Supports
Curly Lifestyles will work with individuals requesting accessible formats or communication supports where required by applicable law.
Depending on the person’s needs and the nature of the information, an appropriate alternative might include accessible electronic text, larger text, a transcript, information read aloud, another accessible document format or another suitable communication method.
We will consult with the person making the request regarding the suitability of the format or support where required.
We will not impose an additional fee solely because information is being provided in an accessible format where applicable law prohibits such a fee.
18. Individual Accommodation
Technical standards cannot anticipate every disability or accessibility need.
If an individual encounters a barrier despite our general accessibility measures, Curly Lifestyles will consider reasonable individual accommodation where required by applicable law.
Accommodation is assessed according to the circumstances of the individual request and applicable legal requirements.
We seek to preserve the dignity, independence, privacy and meaningful participation of people requesting accommodation.
19. Third-Party Technology
Curly Lifestyles relies or may rely on third-party technology for functions including hosting, WordPress themes and plugins, payments, advertising, social-media content, embedded video, newsletters, affiliate services, analytics, quizzes and other features.
We do not have complete control over every aspect of independent third-party systems.
However, third-party technology is not treated as a blanket reason to disregard accessibility.
Where reasonably possible, we aim to consider accessibility when selecting, configuring or replacing technologies that form an important part of the Curly Lifestyles experience.
If an external feature creates a barrier to accessing an essential Curly Lifestyles service, contact us and we will consider whether another accessible method can reasonably be provided while the underlying issue is investigated.
20. Third-Party Websites
Links from Curly Lifestyles may lead to independent retailers, salons, hairstylists, booking platforms, social networks, advertisers or other third-party websites.
Curly Lifestyles does not control the accessibility practices of independent websites merely because we link to them.
If a Curly Lifestyles affiliate recommendation directs you to another company’s service, accessibility of that independent service is generally controlled by the applicable company.
21. Social-Media Accessibility
Curly Lifestyles may publish content through third-party social-media platforms.
Where the platform provides appropriate accessibility tools and it is reasonably practicable to use them, we aim to use features such as captions, alternative text, readable text overlays or accompanying descriptions.
The accessibility of the underlying social-media platform remains controlled by the platform provider.
Where practical, important Curly Lifestyles information may also be available through our website.
22. Motion, Animation and Flashing Content
We aim to avoid content that unnecessarily creates accessibility barriers through flashing, excessive animation or motion.
When we control an interface that includes significant motion or animation, we aim to consider user preferences and accessibility controls where technically appropriate.
Content should not be designed in a manner that knowingly creates a seizure risk contrary to applicable accessibility standards.
23. Known and Potential Limitations
Because Curly Lifestyles is an evolving publication and uses third-party technology, accessibility limitations may occasionally exist.
Potential areas requiring continuing attention include legacy content, third-party advertisements, embedded social-media content, externally hosted videos, older documents, themes, plugins and newly introduced interactive functionality.
Identifying an accessibility limitation does not mean that we consider the barrier permanent or acceptable.
We welcome reports that help us prioritize remediation.
24. Ongoing Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing process.
As Curly Lifestyles grows, we may review accessibility through combinations of technical testing, content review, user feedback, vendor review and remediation work.
When significant new functionality is introduced—such as e-commerce, quizzes or new publishing technology—we aim to consider accessibility as part of implementation rather than relying only on later correction.
25. International Accessibility Requirements
Curly Lifestyles is based in Ontario, Canada and may be accessed by users in other jurisdictions.
Accessibility obligations vary internationally.
Where another jurisdiction’s accessibility laws validly apply to a Curly Lifestyles product or service, we will seek to address those applicable obligations.
Nothing in this Accessibility Statement is intended to waive mandatory accessibility or disability rights available under applicable law.
26. Changes to This Statement
We may update this Accessibility Statement as our website, technology, business, accessibility practices or legal obligations change.
When we make changes, the Last Updated date will be revised.
A change to this statement does not eliminate an accessibility obligation imposed by applicable law.
